What is the Sugar Plum Ball?
The Sugar Plum Ball is an annual Father-Daughter dance hosted by Community United Methodist Church and open to everyone in the community! The event is free, and for the 2019 10th Anniversary event, registration IS NOT required. "Father Figures" are also welcome to attend!
WHO CAN ATTEND?
A girl of any age and the man in her life who plays the role of father. Because this event is fostering this father/daughter relationship, moms will not be allowed in the Ball.
Do I have to register in advance?
No registration is required for the 2019 Event! Capacity is 750.
When is the 2019 Sugar Plum Ball?
Saturday, Mar 30, 2019.
Where is the Sugar Plum Ball held?
The Sugar Plum Ball is held at Highland Woods Community Center (1377 Hart St, Vincennes, IN 47591).
What time do the doors open?
The doors open at 6:00pm for "Dads" and daughters only. Music begins at 6:30pm.
What time does the dance end?
What is the cost to attend?
The Sugar Plum Ball is free! A freewill basket will be available for donations, but there is no charge for admittance.
What should we wear?
Many girls will wear nice dresses, and the men may wear suits. However, more casual attire is also completely acceptable.
What about photos?
TRP Photography will be present to take a free downloadable image of each daddy/daughter pair. There is NO charge to you for the digital image You may purchase professional print packages through the photographer.
Candid photographs are also taken and may be used for media purposes. If you do not wish your child’s photograph used, you must call the SPB hotline 812.316.6424.
How young or old do you have to be to attend?
There are no age restrictions for attendees. Attendants will be available as needed, for example, if a young girl needs help in the restroom, or if a father with small girls needs assistance with the refreshments.
Will there be any refreshments served?
We will have light refreshments (not a meal) available at the ball - sweets, cheese, fruits, etc. Punch and water will also be served.
